Abstract

Considered historically, the relation between music and religion didactics is an ambivalent one. Yet these two subjects are linked through sharing similar challenges in the present school system and in endeavoring to bring about a deeper understanding of self and the world. Therefore, this article will document and defend an inter-university and interdisciplinary example of didactic cooperation at the university level. Within the context of similar yet simultaneously very specific requirements for the subjects of religion and music, teaching sequences were designed, implemented and evaluated in a joint planning process, cooperating closely with practitioners in schools. For reasons of subject-specific didactic development research, students are supported in developing specific didactic competence with regard to interdisciplinary cooperation while alternating between theoretical discourse and practical orientation.
