John Henry Newman (1801-1890), like hardly any other thinker of the 19th century, had a lasting inspiration and influence on theology. On the occasion of his canonization by Pope Francis on October 13, 2019, the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Vienna, in cooperation with the Oratory of St. Philipp Neri hold an international congress on the life and thought of the new saint in Vienna. Participation in the congress is free. Please register by September 19, 2021 using the registration form on the event website.
According to the current status, a face-to-face event is possible. In any case, access to the event can only be granted with proof of the 3-G rule (vaccinated, tested, recovered). We are closely monitoring the current sanitary situation and will adapt the form of the event should this prove necessary due to the corona situation.
