Vienna Doctoral School of Theology and Research on Religion (VDTR)
Die Vienna Doctoral School of Theology and Research on Religion (VDTR) offers research-oriented doctoral training in an interdisciplinary and international setting. It brings together doctoral students from the fields of Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and Islamic theology; religious studies; Islamic studies; Jewish studies; and the philosophy of religion. Through interdisciplinary exchange, scholarly networking, and targeted professional development opportunities, the VDTR supports its members in successfully advancing their research and academic careers.
Theology Library
The Theology Library at Schenkenstraße 8–10 is one of the largest theological libraries in Central Europe. It brings together the holdings of Catholic, Protestant, and Islamic theology and provides students and researchers with access to approximately 420,000 volumes, numerous specialised journals, and electronic resources. As a central academic library, it supports teaching, learning and research at the University of Vienna.
